There Is Always A Choice

The world is in a state of juxtaposition. Whilst the march of progress would seem to continue, many powerful governments around the world are actively taking steps backwards - back towards the draconian past - and with each step, whittling away the civil liberties promised to so many.

In 2020, Poland revoked access to abortion for millions of women, removing the choice from the hands of women, and into the hands of mostly male Doctors. This ended the right to choose in all but the most damaging cases, such as rape and incest or when there is a threat to life. However, even these most basic of cases are already being dismissed, resulting in the deaths of women across Poland. The only justification: religion, Roman Catholic beliefs enforced on a nation en masse.

“There Is Always A Choice” is direct protest to these draconian measures from the perspective of a Polish migrant witnessing their own nation fall back into the influence of religion into politics, witnessing the rights of women being stripped away and witnessing the choices of a few powerful men contribute to the deaths of women.
